Carter had a loose tooth for a couple of weeks. This was his first loose tooth so he was pretty anxious about it. Anytime he was sitting around at home or at school he would wiggle it. On Sunday he was in his Sunday School class and his teacher brought the kids rice crispy treats. After he ate his treat, he went back to his seat and was going to continue working on the loose tooth. When he went to wiggle it the tooth was gone! He had SWALLOWED his tooth!
When Carter's teacher brought him to Dave, Carter had a red face and watery eyes. He was not happy. I should probably mention that a few days prior Carter had asked Dave what would happen when his tooth finally came out. Dave told him how there might be a little blood and it would feel funny for a while. Carter asked what would happen if he swallowed it. Dave told him he wouldn't swallow it.... "Kids don't swallow teeth bud, they pull them out and put them under their pillow for the Tooth Fairy," may have been his exact words. Carter was not happy that he had swallowed the tooth. I think it was a little scary for him when he realized what had happened. He was also concerned that now the Tooth Fairy wouldn't come. Dave calmed him down and assured him a note in the place of the tooth would do.
After that Carter swallowing his tooth was the talk of Primary and even in the halls at church. I came out of my class and heard all about it. Great story to have for loosing your first tooth don't you think!?!
1st missing tooth
Letter left under his pillow for the Tooth Fairy - it worked!
Later that evening Audrey was in her room reading and she came out with a tooth in her hand. She was wiggling her loose tooth and it came right out. This was her 9th missing tooth so she knows the drill. We thought it was pretty funny she and Carter both lost teeth on the same day!
9th missing tooth
As you can read Audrey always asks the Tooth Fairy to keep her teeth. She still has all of them (is that strange? Maybe she gets it from me. I still have my wisdom teeth - now that I think about it that is kind of gross. Maybe I should get rid of them)
This is a picture of the kids on a typical Saturday these days. It still cracks me up that Brady gets in a "uniform" every week. He even wants long socks like the other kids. When Dave puts Carter's socks and shin guards on Carter will lay on the ground. The next thing you know Brady is on the ground next to him with socks from his drawer saying "Me to." It's so cute!!
With school and soccer we haven't had much beach time. We decided to go down to the beach last Saturday for a picnic at sunset. Well it wasn't a true picnic - pizza and doughnuts - but we brought the picnic blanket and ate and watched the sun go down. Dave and I thought it was fun to watch our crazy kids - who by the way think sunsets are boring. I laughed because I know I use to tell my Mom and Dad the same thing.

Audrey and some classmates were able to participate in an art project over the summer that is on display at the Mission Viejo Library. I was there with Brady last week and took a few pictures of the project with my phone (sorry not the best quality). Each child had a tile and was able to paint a picture using acrylic. I think it's so colorful and it's fun to see all their different creative ideas together. Audrey's tile is the tree house (top row, middle in the second picture). She is excited to take some art classes in the new year.

Your kids are the cutest. Thanks for keeping us posted about what you and your family are up to. A picnic at the montage during sunset sounds wonderful!
