Lisa and I finally got the yard finished. We spent two weekends, one of which was a long weekend breaking our backs working in the yard. Lisa was put to duty in rock quarry, carrying rocks from the back construction area to the front and back yard. She finally got our flower bed looking like, well a flower bed. Good job Lisa! I put my carpentry skills to the test and finished the fence, built a gate and put stairs on the deck. Not an easy task, especially with a bum shoulder, and a big gut. Finally we feel like the kids can go in the back and play with out being kidnapped by one of the local construction workers.
Lisa and I both feel like we wouldn't want to move to a new place any time soon just so that we can avoid doing this kind of work again. I think landscaping will be in the budget on the next move.

Last week was the Children's festival in Calgary. The kids had a blast. We went to some of the outdooor events, and also to some musical acts at night in the theatres. All in all it was a good time and the kids had fun.

I hear ya on the landscaping budget...that's a sucker eh? I like the front yard though, I might just copy you a bit...I"ve been trying to find a cute way to do our front since last summer it was all about the back!
