Super September!

So we are only a few days into September and it seems like we have already had a months worth of fun. The weather has been great and the kids have been easy going and adventurous. That is a pretty good combination for a fun month.

We started the month going to Baker Park down next to the Bow River to go for a bike ride. We stole Eli from the Burton's for the afternoon and enjoyed a hot ride on the bikes. We also spent a bit of time on the Bowness Park side of the Bow throwing rocks into the river and watching the rafters float by.

After the ride it was very apparent that the kids needed something to cool them down and reward their excellent efforts on the bike path......so we went to the best icecream shop in town, Leavitt's/Licks Icecream.

As you can see Eli didn't waste any time diving face first into a big mound of a turtle flavored scoop. He kind of has the "V" for Vendetta look going on.

The next weekend we spent up in Lake Louise with Chuck & Sandra's gang. We had a good time walking around the lake. There were lots of pit stops along the way to re-energize the kids. Chuck would probably reconsider pulling a wagon with 80 lbs of dead weight in it next time, but in the end it was worth it. The kids had a blast! There is something good about being outdoors in the mountains on a beautiful day with the kids.
Carter and I ran ahead of the group and climbed up 10 feet or so into the woods. When the rest of the kids came by Carter started to growl like a bear. He thought it was hilarious.

This area is such as beautiful part of the world. We really need to get out more and spend time at places like Lake Louise.
