Captain Carter's Pirate Party

Last week Carter turned 5!!! His birthday is always amid Halloween celebrations so this year we decided to celebrate the week after. It was the first year he was old enough to really put together his guest list. It was fun to hear all about friends he wanted to invite. He was able to have cousins, preschool friends, church friends and some neighbors. The pirates all did a little coloring, played pin the patch on the pirate, went on a treasure hunt and enjoyed pizza and cake. The treasure hunt was a lot of fun. We went on the paths in the neighborhood to collect puzzle piece clues. When they put the puzzle together it was a picture of the park which revealed where the treasure was hidden. They were all so excited to follow the clues to the treasure. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPTAIN CARTER!!! We love you!

I'm sure you have all seen the "Snuggie" commercials on TV. Carter has been obsessed for the past year. He loves to be warm and always tells me why the snuggie is such a great idea. Then Snuggies started arriving in stores, video stores and even the grocery store. Every time we passed one he would strike up the conversation about how everyone in the family would benefit from the snuggie. Our family has a running joke about the chia pet and the infomercial about the snuggie just reminded me of that same type of gift. When I saw the "Snuggie for kids" at Target I finally gave in and purchased him one. Needless to say when he opened his snuggie on his birthday he was very pleased.
