A few weeks ago we had the opportunity to take Audrey and Carter to see "The Lion King". They loved it!! Dave and I saw it many years ago and I was so impressed with the entire show. The costumes are amazing, the music is spectacular and I've always had a soft spot for the story. I really relate to the story's idea of the Circle of Life and how we all help each other learn and grow. I tend to get a lump in my throat during the song "He Lives in You". I know, a little heavy for a night at the theater.
This theme has stuck with me throughout the month.....
First with all the new babies arriving
Then I found these pictures which followed the pattern:
I am the oldest grandchild on my Mom's side of the family. This is a picture of me, at 18, holding Emily the youngest grandchild.

(1992)
Do you love the 90s hair? Find a set of hot sticks, a very large bow and you too could have the look - what was I thinking??
This is a picture of Emily holding Audrey for the first time

(2001)
This is a picture of Emily as she graduated this month. We were all talking about how this was the end of an era in a way. All 10 grandchildren have now graduated high school. The next family high school graduation will be Audrey's. She'll start the next round for the great great grandchildren.

I think I was pretty emotional about this graduation because I remember when Emily was born and now she will be going off to college.
How did that happen so quickly?!?
I find myself saying that a lot lately. How is Brady already 2? Is it really already time for Carter to start Kindergarden? When did Audrey turn into such a young lady?
It's a reminder to me to enjoy every moment. To link my circle to the ones I love.
And I have been thinking a lot about Grandpa. I miss him. I miss his hug and kiss when we would arrive at the door or leave for the evening. I miss watching him sneak salt when Grandma wasn't looking. I miss watching him help dry the dishes. I just miss him being here! We all miss him!! He always encouraged us to be our best. He delighted in our successes. He was a wonderful example!
There is a part in the "He Lives in You" song that stood out to me this time:
He lives in you
He lives in me
He watches over
Everything we see
Into the water
Into the truth
In your reflection
He lives in you
He lives in me
He watches over
Everything we see
Into the water
Into the truth
In your reflection
He lives in you

I hope I will make him proud!
Life might be ever changing but it really is wonderful!

Wonderful post Lisa. I love the picture of you holding me.
Time really does fly by. I remember holding Audrey for my first time like it was yesterday.
I will really miss seeing you and your family while I'm up at school.
Thanks for the sweet post Lisa. I am having a hard time writing this through the tears. Emotions are running high for many reasons right now. You said it all so perfectly.
Love you and your thoughtfulness.

yup, bit teary too.
I've been having a hard week remembering what we all went through this week two years ago. Crying myself to sleep the past couple of nights and now reading this. I miss grandpa sooo much and still can't believe he is no longer with us. It's just not fair!!
Can't believe Emmy is leaving for college, it is an end of an era!
I love this Lisa! You made me cry, and I completely agree that Papa watches over us - I think about him encouraging me on whenever I photograph. : )
Thank you Lisa for your beautiful tribute to Grandpa.
I miss him so much.
Love, Mom
