Ahoy Mate

We were at Costco on Friday and found a sailboat sandbox for the kids. We thought it would be a good addition to the yard, and would help keep the kids entertained. On Saturday Lisa, Audrey and I put the vessel together. It actually didn't take as long as I thought it would (I thought it would be like the play set at Mom & Dads place.....hours upon frustrating hours). Carter thought it was awesome when he woke up from his nap. He jumped in the sand box, picked up a shovel, filled it full of sand and threw the sand straight up in the air. Needless to say half the sandbox left with Carter when he got out, we later found the missing sand in his diaper while giving him a bath.
Audrey has been trying to come up with a good name for the boat. It was Princess of The Sea, then it was the Crusty Crab, then it was Audrey, Carter & Cousins......who knows what it will be next.

Lisa was excited because the poppies that we planted finally started to grow. We planted 4 poppy plants, each one I think produces about 4-5 flowers, so hopefully they will all start to pop out soon. The apple tree survived the transplant from the pot to the rock hard ground and seems to be doing well. I think it will be a few years from now until we start to see the fruits of our labors with this one.

The backyard looks great! What a cute sandbox...I bet they'll have all kinds of adventures in it. Maybe I'll be able to come see it one day.

looks great, why not angle the sandbox, like the back end in the corner and the front at a 45 degree into the lawn instead of right against the fence?

If I angle the box it creates a mowing problem.
