So I am going to give it a try.......yup I am actually going to take a step in to the great world of technology and start my own family blog! I don't exactly know or understand what blogging is, but it sounds like fun. I actually have several friends who have been blogging for a long time now, but it wasn't until my older sister Jessica told me that she had just started one for her family (www.burtonsnorth.blogspot.com) that I thought I could do the same for mine.
While I am sitting here trying to put my thoughts in to words my wife and two children are down in Southern California watching the Rose Parade. Normally the parade is a great event to attend. Lisa's family has been going to the parade for more years than I can remember....it is big time family tradition! The floats are incredible, marching bands are awesome, and the weather is superb; however this is the first year in 50 years that the weather has not cooperated and it is raining buckets. It didn't stop the faithful. All the family is in full attendance. I guess living in Calgary has climatized Lisa and the kids to cold & rainy days.
I asked Lisa's Grandpa Ernie to go through his personal picture and find some cool images of when he was growing up that I could print out and put on my walls in my office. I think this one of Balboa Island in Southern California is awesome.

Grandpa Ernie has some of the coolest pictures of "ancient times". They are all in black & white, but I think they will add some color to my extremely boring walls. He also took the beautiful sun set picture off the deck at the beach trailer in El Morro Village (Laguna Beach area).
I haven't made any kind of New Years resolutions yet. I don't know if I am too late to make one seeing how it is the 2nd of January 2006, but I think keeping this blog up to date and interesting may be a resolution I would like to make and keep for the year. I was supposed to learn how to play the guitar in 2005 but didn't even hold one.....I was also supposed to get in to shape, instead I gained weight....hopefully this one will stick for the year. Time will tell.
